A novel and robust method to quantify fatigue damage in fibre composite materials using thermal imagine analysis

This work proposes a novel and robust thermal imaging-based method suitable to quantify damage evolution stages in fibre-reinforced composite materials under fatigue loading. The uses adiabatic hysteretic heating of the material calculate change enthalpy by imaging when undergoes damage. analytically corroborates validity using calculated identify three different fundamental material. is applied two types notched sandwich specimens subject constant amplitude It practically demonstrated that characteristic curve progressions mechanically measured dissipation curves are good agreement with those computed proposed method.
